Expanding Access to Culturally Responsive Care

The UMMC Behavioral Health Institute (BHI) is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes across Mississippi by providing comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based behavioral health services. Through clinical care, community outreach, education, and research, BHI works to address mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorders, and other behavioral health conditions affecting individuals and families.

In partnership with community organizations like the Institute for the Advancement of Minority Health (IAMH), BHI supports initiatives that expand access to mental health resources, reduce stigma, and promote wellness in underserved and minority communities. Together, these efforts help strengthen prevention, early intervention, and culturally responsive care to improve the overall well-being and quality of life for Mississippians.
